What is the difference between 22 and 22D(or 22M) for connector contact size?

What does suffix D and M mean?

I've never seen a suffix on a contact size , what part number contacts are they?

If you mean a suffix after shell size on the connector part number it can mean all sorts from Insert config through to material type depending on the basic connector part number.

Take a look in the Cannon Plug or Hellerman catalogue via google. The answer will be in there

Dear all,

There are a lot of contacts which have suffix D and M.

For example, mating end size of M39029/58-360 is 22 but wire barel size is 22D.

I need your help.

It is all to do with the wire gauge handling capability of the contact;

22 will handle wire sizes 22-26
22D will handle wire sizes 22-28
22M will handle wire sizes 22-24

Correct! 1974-76 43(F) Leuchars and much, much later Falcon20's for more years than I care to remember...

Well, you live and learn. I've never come across a Pin or Socket with a suffix D or such and even the example given above doesn't have it but it is in the description when you search the DMC site and it does indeed state that a D accepts 22-28 guage wire.

Every day is a learning day :ok:
