Called in there a couple of months back and got told no one is allowed to use the strip unless your aircraft is resident there

Not the reception three RV's circumnavigating Australia got in July - could not fault the friendly service including fuel late in the day and a courtesy car for our overnight stay. Will go back again. Thanks Barwon Heads.

Not what I was advised a few Sundays ago when I dropped in and there was an Aero Club BBQ happening.

The advice I was given was anyone is welcome to fly in for short stays but a user fee of $2500 per annum applied to all permanent users.

All friendly people and the Club BBQ is on every Sunday @ $4.00 a head.

I'll do it again.

Last time I was there, heck, even free accommodation was provided in the form of a caravan.

There may have been a bright yellow 206 amphibian visiting there recently. I do not understand the politics involved at BH but what a shame if aero clubs anywhere are not welcoming visitors. I remember the days-of-old with no landing fees, unlocked doors & honour systems.

I may have got the wrong place, I'm new to mexico, there's a couple of airfields around the area, maybe it was Geelong airport that I dropped into?

You don't know what airfield you flew too...? That's quite disturbing.:\

Yes, it is Geelong airfield that is private and doesn't allow visitors.

The thing I can't understand is the Geelong flying school moving to Tocumwal? Not really the Geelong flying school is it's located 500km north.

You'd know if you'd landed at Barwon Heads. The main runway is about the same size a cricket pitch and about as straight as a Twistie.

My most recent Barwon Heads experience was a good one. Nice bunch, checked out the old Church that's now a bar, was offered the car. Didn't need it though as we had bikes on board. A+ overall.
