View Full Version : An update on the best time to finish training

Shiver me timbers!

I recall a few years ago people suggested 2011-2013 potentially looked like an OK time to be finishing the CPL/IR (particularly for modular guys).

The economy still looks pretty damaged to me :ouch:

Have these target dates changed?
When do people think the next boom period will be?
Is there the slightest hint of the boom on the horizon?

With British Airways hiring so many pilots over the next few years and many other airlines starting other recruitment schemes perhaps there could be an upturn soon.
Recovery has to start some time doesn't it?

But, remember to look where these companies are recruiting from!

I would say, if you wait till times is "good" - you waited too long.
If you start your training when everyone is hiring, most likely you will be done once everyone is done hiring. Which means you may have to wait looong, long time before you will be able to get a job.

Here here cefey.
Loads of jobs out there for those with hours on type the old chicken and the egg situation and I don't every see that changing in this day of pay to fly line training "deals" :ugh:
