Hi guys

Thinking about purchasing a computer flight planner to AID manual
flight planning.

Seems to be between Command or 3000 does anyone have experience
using one or both and could help me out??

Thanks in advance

I used to use Command for VFR, I know use FP3000 for IFR. Took a bit of getting used to but I like it now.

Either works well, trial them and see for yourself.

You can have it licenced to work off a USB stick now so you can carry it with you independent of the box you run it on. Very handy at times.:ok:

Have used both. Recommend FP3000.

Or if you have an iPad see avplan (http://www.avsoft.com.au/)

Hi Bevan

I have the ipad and the NAIPS and OzRunways, but I have to tell you the planning tool is not that flash. I even removed it :oh:

Maybe I did not use it right, and for an IFR flight an interface with NAIPS and printing needs to be a priority.

Maybe I am wrong, and happy to be shown the errors of my ways, but it needs a lot of work for some folk to find useful.

For VFR ops(especially OCTA) it may well be all you need.

Cheers!:ok:

Hi Jaba

It prints plans and charts, and it interfaces with NAIPS for both weather and plan submission. Not sure why that didn't work for you. People are using it for basic VFR ops, to IFR charter.

Feel free to contact me offline - I'd like to know what didn't work.

Thanks,

Bevan..
