I recently acquired a Venture Motorglider & was wondering if there is an owners-group or other shared-experience/parts-availability/fly-in settings?

For parts Ken Ballington is the man - Ken Ballington Aircraft Parts - (http://www.ukaircraftparts.com/)
There was a Falke/T61 fly-in at Saltby this year but my Falke isn't flying yet so I didn't attend. I have heard it may become an annual event.

Thanks for the info about Ken Ballington. I will pursue my search with them. Saltby sounds like a worthwhile trip. Do you know how many T-61 Ventures/Scheibe SF-25 there are in UK?

Hi

Yes we held in a fly in for Ventures (Falke is only for Civilian!) and other machines. It was a great day thanks to a last minute date switch to our weather reserve. Thanks to all those who attended, and welcome to the club. The Venture is a great little machine (if not a bit cramped).

He is a picture from the day.

G-INFO suggests 51 T-61s of all marks (I may have miscounted by one or two) and 54 Scheibe SF-25s again of all marks. How many are airworthy is anybody's guess.

I noticed from the Saltby photo that G-BUNB from Odiham and G-BTWE which flew into Popham in September weren't there, so that's two more that are airworthy.

If only they were more comfortable. BUNB curls my back and is literally a PITA:sad:

Is there a Venture in the UK with a permenant radio and intercom system fitted.
We would like to fit one to our club Venture but want to avoid applying to EASA for approval.
If this has already been done it would make life a lot simpler.
Any information would be appreciated.

The T61F syndicate I am in are just about to undergo the official process of having a Bendix-King KY97A installed and paperwork approved etc. I am not the syndicate engineer or techie so know very little about it, but I am wondering if there might be an option of cost sharing if we both fitted the same radios? If you get in touch I'll point you in the direction of the chap in my syndicate who will know more.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply the Venture in question is a club machine so getting decisions may not be straight forward but it is worth exploring the possabilities of co-operating.
If you put me in contact with your guy we can see if we can help each other.

Hi

Does anybody know where we could obtain a flight manual for the T61F aka Venture T MK 2, apparently the only flight manual produced was by the RAF. Any help would be appreciated, as the only thing we can find is the AAN from the CAA.

Thanks,

Chris

Does anyone know where I can source a fuel pipe for a Venture. We need to replace the pipe that runs from the firewall/fuel filter to the fuel pump.
Thanks

have you tried Ken Ballington
Or
Bob McLean at McLean aviation Rufforth

Both of these chaps have lots of T61F bits and bobs

Thanks for that, but no success with the usual suppliers of T61 bits.

The problem seems to be that the fuel pipe need to be made to order but the hydraulic pipe companies shy away at the mention of aviation. We also need suitable paperwork with it.

Hi, spoke to our syndicate engineer. We get our Venture fuel hoses from R F Saywell on the south Coast. They will make one to patten with all appropriate paperwork.

Thanks, they can supply but need part numbers. Do you have a part number or details of the pipe supplied by Saywell?

Hi

If there are any owners of ZA652 out there, perhaps they could PM me; maybe something coming up in the summer which would see a formation flight of ZA634 (it's sister, one after the other off the line) at an upcoming airshow.

There was only one T61A aka Venture T Mk 1 in the RAF (XW983), and if you are getting that back into the air, that's great news.

Feel free to PM

Talk to Stu Hoy at Anglia Sailplanes - he's a bit of a Venture specialist. He probably hasn't got a fuel pump but he might be able to overhaul/repair yours.............

I've a feeling it might be a standard VW unit.

I have a Slingby T61A G-AYYL which is in the process of being restored to fly. I am in need of a tail wheel assembly, airframe/engine manuals and a fuel cap filler assembly.
I've tried the usual avenues. Could anyone here guide me to the right source?
Kind regards, Jeremy

Dear skippy100,

Do you own XW983? It's the last one out of the fleet and it would be great if I could arrange to see it?

Many thanks and kind regarda,

Tim.
