Can anyone make a list of regional jets/turboprops that are allowed into London City.
Its for a GCSE project.

Thanks in advance

BA46 and Saab2000 for sure, D0328 and Do328Jet most probably. Try to find a Flight-schedule of the airport in the net - there youŽll find all.

BRAL had some J41's from Sheffield to LCY

I dont think the DO328 Jet can get in actually, only the prop. Cant slow the jet down enough to cope with the slope on the ILS.

Oh what about nthe Dash8 - I am sure BEA use them....

In days gone by when I still used to fly there, I came across the following airline types:
Fokker 50, Fokker 70, Dornier 328, Dash 8-100/300, Bae's 146 & RJ's, Jetstream 41 & Saab 2000's. Also I've seen an ATR 42 once, but I still believe the type is not certified for LCY, so technically it was not supposed to be there.
Good luck, SF. :) :) :)

Looks like you have all of the airplanes allowed at LCY and for the record the Dornier 328Jet cannot. The reason is that it doesn't have spoilers available in flight, only on the ground.
Without spoilers or an airbrake of some sort it cannot manage the steep glide-slope.
I do believe, however, that an operator has asked Dornier to do a spoiler modification to allow the use of them in flight and then it should be able to get certified for LCY.

For list of permitted aircraft

Took a C130 in there once. I believe it's still the largest aircraft to have used the place!

Going back to sir_fly-a-lot... Not sure about the Fokker 70 - This is a fairly big peice of kit for LCY and I've certainly never seen one - may be wrong though - I'm no expert. I once read that the 146/RJ were the only jets allowed.

Talking of Dash 8's, the new, larger ones (is it the -4000?) have just been certified and one of the (German?) regionals has just started using them I think?
