Get your facts right Cruize , its NOT Omanair pilots on strike , its Omani pilots ( and not all of them I might add ) who have taken a collective sickie , mainly on the 330 fleet . There are many issues here , the Flight Pay Allowance scheme has not been adjusted to reflect the longhaul element which is relatively new to Omanair . It is still Flight Duty Time based , rather than away-from-base , so there is the rather ridiculous situation where the short-haul crew earn more . Anybody with seniority who left 737 for 330 has taken a hit , and is not home very often ! ( Personally , I have always reckoned that all fleets should enjoy the same pay and conditions . The Widebody Theory has always been b*****ks , BA have always got this right so their pilots can bid for a lifestyle that suits them and not be financially penalised ).
Sadly , the management were happy to meet most of the pilots demands , but other elements have conspired to scupper any progress - mostly the ' pilots are overpaid and I am not at all jealous ' ( NOT ) brigade .
I think this sickie will be shortlived and that the game is not over yet , for sure.

Could this be the reason why Parc is looking for B737NG captains (and not able to find any?)

Flew with Oman Air recently, for the first time in many many years. And what a total shock it was. It was a stunning flight: impeccable aircraft, service, hardware and software. Lomg may it continue. J class is like F class on other airlines.

roster 5days late and counting, incorrect payrolls...is there anything the people in offices can do right??? just as well pilots don't turn up for work 5-6days late for work due to "unforseen circumstances" and "certain problems"

No roster, no flight or duty pay, no retro housing allowance, too much rent deducted. What else? No annual leave.

I dont think Ali Suleiman will change, its all about the poor top managements, the company is going down .. the AC are full and the profit is zero .. last year 87Millon OMR their losses .

No Recommendation for this **** company

And the Leave system is the pits , not allowed to have a week here or there , got to have 23 days in a row , but it's ok , it's approved by the man in the office.
