View Full Version : Rolls Royce Hucknall Aircrew Losses

I have a vague memory as a youngster of a Rolls Royce testbed Lancaster or Lincoln coming to greif at Hucknall in the early 1950's. As I was also at Syerston on the day the Vulcan testbed was lost it semed that RR Hucknall and bombers didn't mix very well. Any info on the former accident would be welcome

Lancaster B.1 NG465 RR Dart testbed(engine in the nose of the a/c).

Fuel starvation, all four RR Merlin engines, on approach to Hucknall, force landed on Holinwell Golf Course near Hucknall on 22nd January 1954.

Nil casualties.
