How quickly after take-off do you have to make the left turn to intercept the 216R inbound to BNN??

I have been doing this depature on the PC FlightSim (yes I know it's sad) and it seems that the turn needs to be made pretty quickly, so much so that it's easy to overshoot the radial.

If it's early in the climb are you still in the climb phase where the pitch is comparitively higher than the rest of the climb??

Any information on this is much appreciated.

(apologies if I've got my facts wrong at all)

Maybe that should have been the 036R inbound to BNN!

I have not got the plate in front of me but if my memory serves me correctly you turn at 1026 feet to intercept the radial it does happen pretty quickly but the radial is not that sensitive as to overshoot it and yes we are still in the early stage of the climb in a 737 doing around 150 kts hope this helps you.

Where is BNN - Barcelona?

Springbok,

Thanks a lot for that. I am usually going much faster than 150 on the start of the turn which accounts for the overshoot.

Patsy - BNN is Bovingdon. It's quite near to Hemel Hempsted.

Take care folks.
