Wouldnt it be great if they brought barnstorming back?
Walking down to the shops to see a bi plane zooming about overhead and then landing in a field, the pilot producing a sign:£10 a ride.
wouldnt it be great!

O! but this would be too much fun for the CAA! they have to plaster rules and such all over it: barnstormers must at no time fly within 20,000 feet of a settlement or persons and should not land on surfaces other than those specially prepared to a cost of £1million ........or whatever.....
Sure we have efficient airlines, flying computers that they are, but at what cost???
BUT AT WHAT COST????

Check accident and fatality rates for that wondeful golden era of aviation. That should give an idea of the 'cost' of unregulated (however fun) flying.

Remember the times when you could just go out and shoot some poor people? Ahh.. the good old days... :)

Well it should be up to them, as ling as they dont fly over highly populated areas apart from to attract attention. Anyway u were much more likely to survive a crash back then or an engine failure than u would have been in one of todays civil aviation planes
