Hey guys,

Yes I am going to be THAT guy that asks about jobs.

Before you shoot me down in a ball of flames, telling me to use the search function, well, I have. I have also done a google search.
Before you question my motivation, I have sent my CV out to around 70 operators all over NZ, Australia and Canada.

My hours are a little different to most of those guys out here asking this question. I have nearly 1700hrs TT, 1400 PIC, 110 twin, 350+ Turbine and around 1200 on ATO.

Most of the companies are asking for around 250-300 for the contractual obligations.
I would love to land a Kingair job, but most are flown single crew and therefore need a little more twin time.
I have no qualms about taking a few steps backwards into some of the smaller operators as I have 550hrs on GA8's and around 300 on C206's. Just as long as I don't get stuck flying them for extended periods of time giving me more single screw time that I dont really need.

I'm hoping that you guys can put me onto any twin operators out there that I may not have already CV bombed. (I will be doing follow up visits and phone calls once my contract here in Africa is done.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you want to work in Aus you have to put your head in the door and physically apply for the job, sending resumes wont help.

You will also have to be "work ready" IE: have your Australian licence and qualifications sorted out and have a dangerous goods certificate, ASIC card (airside security clearance) your instrument ratting should also be current.

General aviation operators will not do any of this for you, nor are they obliged to.

Lilflyboy262,

Nothing wrong with your hours for a piston job with my organisation.

Not enough for multi turbine, simply too many out there with 'better' experience due contract requirements etc

You may wish to lower your expectations and personal conditions on here, not too many resumes from Botswana...

Main problem is no operator is likely to hold a job for another low time pilot until you finish and relocate from Botswana.

In most smaller organisations pilots are hired on a need now basis.

Patience and good luck, keep trying.

Thanks Sagan, I pretty much expected that. I'm under no illusions that I will find work purely via the internet. It doesn't work like that in this part of the world either.
So far the plan is to get there around December and buy a car and do the great drive around Aussie. I was hoping to open a few doors with a few operators just so I'm not going to chuck in a decent gig in terms of flight hours.

I don't mind taking a few steps back into things like airvans or 206's (I've got 550hrs on the GA8 and 300ish on the 206).
But I was hoping more to land a light twin job such as a baron and progress up the ranks.
I just don't want to end up stuck in a single screw job again from a operator whos going to take advantage and dangle the carrot.

A few names of the better and bigger GA operators would be fantastic.

My biggest problem that I have faced so far is that most of the companies have contractual obligations so can't bend the minimum requirements on twin time.

I guess I didnt include ALL my info, I have a Aussie licence and I did the Dangerous goods course back in 2009. Only thing I am lacking is a ASIC card.

I feel like I'm setting out to find my first job again!!!
