did anyone hear anything about a Boeing 777 diverted to Shannon(Ireland) last sunday 25th nov 2001 - early afternoon (GMT) .... think it may have been a west bound BA flight with a problem on the left engine

Hobie,
My mate was one of the crew.
It was the engine anti ice that was giving problems.
Shannon was cavok I believe so they went there instead of LGW which didnt have as good WX.
They flew out some engineers with the 747 along some spares and they fixed it after the pax had continued to LGW on the 747.
