Just read this recently on Manchester website:

Ground Level Check-in
Expansion works will start in the new year in the ground level check-in area. The check-in hall will be opened out and an additional eleven check-in desks will be installed together with an enhanced baggage handling system. These works are being undertaken to increase capacity to meet the Airport's growing schedule of flights and destinations.

Anybody know anything else about this, or has it been completed already? Where is the ground level check-in?

T1 ground floor check-in is an exclusive Airtours check-in facility, work is in progress now.

So the "ground level check-in" is actually the Airtours check-in area. Does this mean that Airtours are going to be losing it altogether or just losing their "exclusive" status by having somebody else move in? (BMI, maybe?).

Any thoughts please.

According to signage by the work it would seem to be expansion for Airtours.

Well that's good . . . they need it! On the busy days it's a madhouse down there and it can get claustrophobic.
