I wondered which is the cheapest 2 crew operation certified aircraft for rent.

Just a wild idea, but it could make sense for two newly qualified pilots to rent one of these ans log on time as P1 and P2.

God, I'd love a DC3 endorsement.

Wonder what it costs? Interesting to compare between UK, USA & Oz.

I wonder if I could justify it on the grounds of getting value from my FAA ATP during one of my forthcoming trips to the States?

The Dash-8 is preety cheap as far as I know, as opposed to similar other a/c like the SAAB 340 or the CN-235 that are more expensive.

It's gotta be a shed. Type rating for one of them is approx £7K but I saw an advert recently for a DC-3 rating at something like £20-25K!!!!!!! Oh, but it was less if you supplied your own a/c! I think it was south coast airways(?) if anyone is remotely interested at that price.

Sort of related, but am I right in understanding that the 2 pilot rule is dictated by (at least)...

Over Weight [x]
Single Engine Jet
any others?

If the single engine jet thing is correct, then your wannabee PPL fighter pilot with his JP weekend toy always has to take along a like-licensed buddy? Any has to be type rated too?
