Try to go to Museo dell'Aeronautica Militare in Vigna di Valle just on the coast of Lago di Bracciano.
Is about 60 Km from Rome, but if you are able to arrange a rental car it will turn in an excellent tour.
You'll see perfect kept aircrafts from the '30s when italian aviation was among the best in the world.
