The Independent on Sunday reported that James Blunt, the award-winning singer and a former soldier, has run into trouble with military top brass after he complained about "gross incompetence" in the Royal Air Force. RAF chiefs have protested that they were not "helping to lose the war" in Afghanistan, after Blunt criticised the transport delays that forced the cancellation of his "morale-boosting" trip to entertain British troops in the country.

Delay on the trooper? Surely not!

This is very old news - I think this all happened pre-Christmas. Looks as if someone is trying to stir things up again...

I would have thought that the Non arrival of James Blunt would be more of a morale booster than him turning up.

Another silly season story, tbh.

But, this is not a particular branch that the airships have handled well, is it, over the years. You reap what you sow. Or rather the troops reap what the airships sow, more to the point.

Heavily discussed at the time and lots of RAF bashing over servicibility and aircraft availabilty until it was found out that he and Katherine Jenkins were on a charter aircraft.

Found it...... (http://www.pprune.org/military-aircrew/437477-vc10-duty-hours.html)

HB,

I never contemplated salivating over her. However, having sat in row 3 for her concert at the MEN Arena back in March I do confess to dribbling!
