View Full Version : Asiana B744F cargo fire? LGB 28th Jul 2011, 16:13 News reports about an ICN-PVG flight reporting fire, then crashing less than 10 minutes later ... :uhoh: FirstStep 28th Jul 2011, 17:32 Departed Incheon, for Pudong. Diverted to Jeju, crashed into the sea 76 Miles SW of Jeju. The two pilots missing. INSIDE Korea JoongAng Daily (http://joongangdaily.joins.com/article/view.asp?aid=2939527) like article; http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/29/world/asia/29crash.html But Hell, it's just a cargo plane. Had to dig just to find information about it. If you haven't gone over you "Smoke, Fire, Fumes" checklist(s)(s),( as if UPS wasn't enough ) this is a great motivator. I put in the bonus (s) as there are multiple checklists, and "somewhat" confusing even in a relaxed atmosphere. In times of stress, well, nough said. My thoughts go to the pilots families. night mission 28th Jul 2011, 22:51 No mention on APC either. Guess "non" freight types don't see much in discussing an Asian freight airline going down. Maybe people will notice in a day or so. stepwilk 29th Jul 2011, 02:06 There's already a substantial thread on Rumours and News, I hardly think non-freight flight crews are ignoring this... LGB 29th Jul 2011, 04:31 I see that discussion now. I did not see it initially, and used the search function using "asiana" within the last week. It came up with nothing, so I must have done something wrong ... Leatherman 11th Aug 2011, 15:32 Lithium batteries again it seems. |
