If you have a JAR license, you can fly in all JAR certifying countries without any problem, that is the idea behind JAR.. .If you do hold still a national license, than you can apply for a validation at any time.. .Give the CAA a call, they are very helpful.. .try this one:. .Mr. Mike Dobson. .Civil Aviation Authority. .Aviation House G-E, Gatwick. .RH6 OYR West Sussex. .United Kingdom. .Tel.: +44 1293 573 542. .Fax: +44 1293 573 996. .E-Mail: [email protected]

Friend,. .What FL310 says is correct, if you hold a JAR licence then you're OK to work. JAR-FCL 1.015(a)(1) applies.

Just to be sure we have it straight, if you have a JAR license, you don't need any validation - the license is enough, provided you have the type rating on it. I've been using a Swiss issued JAR license on UK aircraft for instance.

Before I had the JAR license, I had to validate my ordinary Swiss ATPL - this allows you to fly up to one year with one carrier only.

Good luck.
