Recent ekg result for 1st class medical. Readout stated may be normal variant. Borderline ecg. What can i expect from the faa?

Without having more details unable to say.
ECG machines can decide that a trace is borderline for a multitude of reasons.
Maybe something or nothing.

You need to ask a doctor to read the ECG. The machine print out isnt worth the paper it is written on - there have been other threads on this site.

LVH on an ECG produced from an alogrithm diagnosis can be very inaccaurate, as one poster has said you need a human to look at it. It also has variables such as fitness and stature to be thought about as well.
IF, your medic thinks it is appropriate, the way to go is for an Echocardiogram

ECG machines all have their own algorithms too eg. some are specific for A&E where a myocardial infarct is what you're looking out for.
Without knowing what the abnormality is it's impossible to say...the range extends from 'no problem' ...to 'disastrous'.
As another poster said, and ECG annotation from the machine is utterly worthless, and of no consequence. It's what a human Dr interprets that counts - the note just gives him/her something to narrow in on.
