Although this thread mentions Ryanair, it's not one for the Ryanair postings - but what will happen to Girona airport now that Ryanair is ceasing to fly there from the end of October, two months before their contract actually ends (and for which they have already been paid.)
A tremendous amount of work has been put into modernising the airport and enlarging facilities such as parking etc.
In the days when we used to fly, we never saw any aircraft departing with less than 85% of the seats full. Surely any airline establishing flights into Girona - dare one say any airline ofering an increased level of service over the previous one, which wouldn't be hard to do - would be on to a good thing.
Large modern airport, plenty of passengers flying to the Costa Brava - only an airline is missing.
