PAT CPL/IR duration

Hi

I've been reading these forums for a while, but i've just signed up to post a few questions. I'm looking for a CPL/IR provider. I've narrowed it down to PAT or CTC, i'm leaning more towards PAT, however a few people tell me that their may be a tendency not to put people up for test etc and therefore they over run etc. Their pass rates seem unenviable however.

What i'm looking for is feedback for people who have been there/are on how long their CPL/IR took and if they/others were constantly going over.

Finished my training with them last winter and passed 1st time both my CPL and my IR. Did 28.4 hrs on my CPL (minimum is 28 for the combined CPL and MEP course) and 50.5 for my IR (minimum is 50).
The whole training (multi CPL and IR) lasted 3.5 months for me, with some really crap weather. Overall, not bad at all. They usually pair you with another student and this does help a lot to get you up to speed.
Most of the other guys there passed 1st time and roughly in minimum time.

That is true though if you are not ready, they'll advise you not to go take your test unlike other schools. I think that's a very good thing as having to re-take a test costs you another £1500.

Their pass rates are surely extremely good, much much higher than another Bournemouth school just across the road.
No doubt CTC have very good pass rates as well.

PAT got a 4th Be76 since last year, we had no trouble with three multi but that surely can't be a bad thing to have a spare aircraft.

Also, and I think that's worth noticing, about half of the people I trained with already managed to secure a pilot job.

Hi, I just wanted to add my experience with PAT on this thread. I took 5 weeks to get my CPL with PAT and have been very happy with the flying training provided as I passed my CPL first time.
If you're not ready for the test when you get to minimum hours then you will need more hours but that's based on individual performance, at the end of the day you won't find many schools that will put you in for test if they doubt your ability to pass!
