The Passing of Captain Dan.

Dan Holloway passed away in Darwin, Australia, on June 20, 2011 after a long illness.

I first meet Dan in Illawarra NSW in the early 1990’s when we were flying the Lloyd B412, 212 and finally the S76.

Dan then went onto the Offshore Operations in the Timor Sea and relocated to Darwin, where he and Marion lived until his passing.

Dan was one of the true gentlemen of our industry and a nicer chap you couldn’t meet.

Farewell Captain Dan.

Hi Jerka

Very sorry to hear the sad news about Dan. He really was a top bloke & I enjoyed flying with him.
He had a miraculous escape some years ago when a Tristar, I think, ditched at night in the Everglades. The force of the ditching burst his seat belt & he woke up floating with a helicopter nite sun shining on him. His stomache was scarred for life but then so many people died that night, so he always knew how lucky he had been.
Could you pm me with more details.
