Spain's foreign ministry later confirmed that a Spanish citizen had died, saying that he was an airline pilot.
I am truly amazed that the death toll isn't worse, and the bigger picture of this is that it most certainly calls into question the credibility of claims that adequate safety measures are in place for crews who might find themselves lodging in the city.
