Flight Navigator / Air Observer - Courses?

Morning everyone,

Does anyone know if any Flight Navigator or Air Observer courses are conducted by the CAA or FAA.

Its one job that I have always wanted to do & I am considering the Fleet Air Arm in a few years to join as a D-E Observer, but I was just wondering if there are any civilian counterpart courses?

Sadly, none - they are all done internally by the companies that need them (power lines, police, etc.) A bit of a waste, I know, and we have often thought of offering such courses, but the market simply isn't there :(
