What you may be hearing if you are in the UK is "Coastrider"
I'm no spotter so will happily stand corrected but I think they are a Dutch BA franchise operating JS31s and E120s from Rotterdam to MAN and maybe other places that I'm not aware of.
If there is a Ghostrider (other than Maverick!) I apologise for wasting your time!

Coastrider is the r/t callsign of BASE airlines of Eindhoven. Indeed they operate BAe31s, EMB-120s and a single Be1900C from EIN/RTM to BHX/MAN.

Thanks, that seems to be right, I have heard them at both at MAN and over Holland.

"Ghostrider" was Maverick's call sign in "TopGun"..and the carrier? "Mustang"...
remember? "Ghostrider 505 Mustang 3/4 mile
call the ball" "Ghostrider has the ball"...
then he went around to save Cougar...etc...etc...ah! what a hero!

Actually the line was

".....Ghostrider 3/4 mile call the ball..." and the reply "....Roger, Maverick has the ball"

"Ghostrider" is the callsign used by North American Air Defense to contact unidentified aircraft normally on guard frequencies. The unidentified target is called Ghostrider.
