What a damn shame that is. :{:{
No one has probably seen a photo of a B-17 burning in a field like that since they were operational in WW2.

Great to see everyone got out before the fire got out of control.

Oh boy that is just devastating:sad:

I can't imagine what those young airmen went thru back in WW2.This scene must have been all too familiar to those that survived. Great to see the crew got out.

And to those who didn't get out all those years, you will not be forgotten:ok:

Sad day, but fortunately no one killed or injured.

Imagine being a young man in command of a B-17, going out to bomb to the fritz in daylight.

The original "Liberty Belle" was lost due to an engine fire and all crew survived in 1943.

This is serendipitous....

Looks like a fantastic job on the emergency put down :ok:.

Such a shame seeing the old girl looking in that state. I know there's only a handful that are flyable and countless hours go into keeping them airborne.

A terrible loss of a piece of history.

Hang-on ..... I thought four engines were safer ....:sad:

Looks like a nice job ... great to see they stuck to flying 101 and put it down in a field when it all got to hard.

big issue was that they had no fire warning apart from the T-6 flying nearby. Seems to have started behind the firewall where the exhaust runs from a fuel leak...

Good job..
