Watch the space behind the F-4: <http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=f0a_1307112708>

This LiveLeak video is erroneously identified as the [July 2009] Caspian Airlines Tu-154 Crash near Qazvin, Iran. Details at <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caspian_Airlines_Flight_7908>.

More probably, it is the Sept. 22, 2009 crash of an Iranian IL-76MD AWACS after a midair with an F-5E, details at: <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_Iranian_Air_Force_mid-air_collision>.

In the latter instance, the aircraft were involved at the time in a flyby as part of an observance of the beginning of the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq War.

Incidentally, for those who have read all the F-4 Vietnam war tales, and/or those of Israeli F-4s in conflict, the remaining largely untold chapter of F-4 warfighting is grippingly described in a book about Iranian F-4s during the Iran-Iraq war: <http://www.amazon.com/Combat-Aircraft-37-Iranian-Phantom/dp/1841766585>

We have had this posted quite recently. Then it was described as a result of the radar radome becoming detached and removing the tailplane.
