I think this move is more about getting the senior 777 local boys onto the 380. You know , " my landcruiser is bigger than yours !" type of culture.

I know there are some senior 330/340 skips who have been waiting their turn ,that are going to be very unhappy about this as they now get displaced by more senior 777 guys.

Halas , they can have it. There will be more jobs in the future ( outside of the sandpit) , on the 777/787 than on the whalejet , period.

The guys do love flying the big landcruiser though , it is a nice machine. I will rather sit on my very uncomfortable park bench of a chair on the 777 and keep my options open.

155 more pax than the ER and all for the same pay. More pax, more tech issues and all for the same pay.
The only 777 pilots to go will be the one's with the small c0ck issues. The ones that require us to cover up in the locker rooms. The ones that are stuck in the sand.

I was a Boeing man ( B707,B737,B757/767) for 30 years and had no problem converting onto A340 and cannot imagine A380 that much different. You have either got it or you have not.

Yes it took a bit of getting used to thrust levers not moving and being called a " retard " but I assumed it was not personal.:E

Flew 737/757/767/777 then joined EK 330/340/380, loved the B and now love the A.
Most of our new joiners flew some small planes and now they are on the B and think thats the best plane in the world, well try both before you make a statement.

I couldn't care less if a 777 burns less fuel than a 340 or a 380, I just want a good life style, a table, a sidestick and a comfy seat, 4 engines are pretty nice too.

btw the 345 is heavier than the 777 :}

777 or 380, we could do a lot worse than flying those puppies.

its not Boeing or Airbus who ruins our lifestyle, it's Emirates and Frankie, the fleet to be on changes all the time, it used to be the 330 for a while, now its the 777 for a while, I know everybody has his own theorie but we will see it on our future rosters. nobody really knows now.

Sandhound , I guess its either EKs training or the quality of their pilots then ? Singapore airlines had no problem training its senior 747 and 777 boys onto the 380. I guess we better hire more Singaporeans , Indians and Malaysians then to fly the Super :ok:

Myself have flown 330/340/777 and came off classic boeings onto the 330 , so I think your theory is flawed ( although I acknowledge few may indeed struggle , as sometimes we do when we adapt to a new machine.)

I do like your agenda though , try and intimidate the boys so they might be " scared " to pass a type rating , therefore fewer applicants. Dont worry about it. There are plenty that have no desire .

Its been said before . If you need to leave one day then a Super rating will be of very little use to you. Now 777 /330 and the pending arrival of the 787 , thats a meal ticket !

..... and we see SQ getting themselves into trouble every day now. Unable to keep the 380 upright. Yeah right !

The arrogance in EK continues to astound me. How super we all are .

So the Line Engineers knew all about the problems within the SIA Flight Operations Department...? Just when I give you the benefit of the doubt A380-800 driver, you go and blow it all again. So, your Command is delayed again I see?
