G'day

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I was wondering if anyone in Sydney or nearby would be keen to share a single up the coast. I currently need about another 15 hours cross country command so I was thinking of heading north for a bit of sun. To give you an idea...

YSBK > YPMQ > YBCG > YHBA > YBRK > YBHM > YEML > YBCV > YBKE > YSDU > YSBK

Any improvements or suggestions would be great.

Ideally looking to head up around July over maybe 5 days.

Cheers

You could try message girl with a stick - she wanted to fly around the coast a while ago, but was forced by weather at the time to cancel the coast north of Sydney. She may be interested in ticking off that portion of the tour ...

Lovely time of year up in Sunny Queensland. That would be a nice trip.

Most of those destinations have their own peculiar "issues" with access etc. That's the hardest part of flying these days. If you can get to your plane you have completed the most challenging part of the jourvey.:ugh:

Dubbo has landing fees. Narromine 17 nm away (YNRM (http://www.airservicesaustralia.com/publications/pending/ersa/FAC_YNRM_2-Jun-2011.pdf)) is more lighty friendly, has accommodation (http://narrominetouristpark.com.au/) on the field and an aviation museum (http://www.narromineaviationmuseum.org.au/) (not open every day).

HM worth a visit. "only" $44 to land and park. Not too bad given the $$$$ there.

Accom is dear though.

Nice to say you have done it !!!

Cheers

Haha!

A few years ago I was headed into HM in a C402 - called on the ground frequency to get the lights turned on. The conversation went something like:

Me: Hammy Ground, C402 XXX is 10 miles NW inbound, request the lights.
Them: XXX, there is a $400 fee to turn the lights on. Confirm you are prepared to pay the fee.
Me: Ahhhh, Hammy Ground, can you arrange to pick your band up in Mackay?
Them: You have our band?
Me: Affirm
Them: The lights are on Sir!
