1/Are AerLIngus recruiting trainee pilots this summer?
2/If so how many?
3/How long does it take to become a F/O once qualified as A S/O?
4/What is the starting salary?
5/What aircraft are the pilots most likely to be put on once qualified?

At the moment EI have put a stop on all recuritment accorss the board. Have a look at the web page for current jobs and you will see what I mean. I know a person who works in the HR Dept and they have told me that there is to be a review of this soon. A decision is to be made on cadets later in the year but at the moment EI has about 90 cadets to there name so it could be next year before they think about it again. Sorry to sound so down about this, I am just as Pi$%£d as everyone about this.

I recently e-mailed the Aer Lingus Employment Section and was politly informed that, "the Board of Management held a special board meeting
on Monday 9th April to discuss the issues that currently face the airline
and, following that meeting, they have suspended all recruitment with
immediate effect.

They are holding further meetings over the next number of weeks, at which
point we hope to have a better idea of the manpower requirement for the
Company."

Hope that helps!
