Anybody got any news on Easyjet Airbus G-EZAN Grounded at Mahon Menorca ?

We were due to fly back to Gatwick from Menorca on Easyjet on the afternoon of Friday 13th but the Easyjet airbus was grounded due to technical problems, described as damage to the left wing. Apparently the damage was a hole in the underside outer aerilon surface spotted by the captain on the walk around. The crew had noticed nothing unusual on takeoff, inflight or landing and had no idea as to what may have caused the damage.

Easyjet arranged for most of the PAX to be transferred to a later Monarch flight going to Birmingham and then be coached to Gatwick, arriving some 8 hours late at 1:30 am on Saturday morning, but a few of us decided to stay another day and return on the Saturday EZY flight to Gatwick.

The Airbus G-EZAN was still stuck on the tarmac in MAH when we flew out on Saturday 24hours later. We were told by the Spanish handling agents that it may well be there for several days longer.

Full marks to the Easyjet captain and cabin crew who were very helpful and kept us PAX very well informed as to what was the problem and what the alernatative options were to get us all home.

Has anyone with contacts in EZY got any further information on the incident and any news as to when G-EZAN will be back in service again ?
