Charles E. Gardner won the Kings Cup in '36 & '37, both times in Percivals. I'm trying to find-out more about him, especially what he did after the war, but other than what little was published in the periodicals at the time, I'm pretty-much drawing a blank. An old pal of mine, now sadly deceased, told me that Charles E. Gardner was not to be confused with the Charles Gardner who was famously a reporter during the war. Furthermore, that C.E.G got very involved with choppers after the war.

I can't see any obvious tie-in with Air Whaling or Bristow yet...:hmm:

Can any of our oracles here perhaps give me any clues and hints..? I suspect that, as the helicopter field at that time was in it's infancy, it was a relatively small world. Unfortunantely, I've never been very involved with rotary...but...perhaps we have some very knowledgable bods on here with all the gen...! Over to you....:)
