Did you have any luck with your post last year, as I am looking for the same.
I have a GX50 and want to check that it works before I go and spend money on getting new database.

Spriteah, Are you using this GPS for VFR or IFR work? I had a quote from jeppesen recently about 5-600 i think it was for the maps worldwide only, no choice. And a second hand reader is around $150.

Get something else, they are not worth spending money on --- they no longer have any technical support, and the present Jepp database will no longer fit on the PCMCIA card they use.
I have an almost brand new GX50 ---- makes a really high tec. paperweight.
