At this hour, on this day ANZAC received its baptism of fire, and
became one of the immortal names in history. We who are gath-
ered here think of the comrades who went with us to battle but did
not return. It is fitting that we should keep this dawn vigil together,
in remembrance and gratitude. We feel them near us in spirit.
Let us therefore, once gain dedicate ourselves to the
service of the ideals for which they died.
As the dawn is even now about to pierce the night, so let their
memory inspire us to work for the coming of the new light into the
dark places of the world.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.
age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning:
We will remember them. We will remember them.

My thoughts with all current and former ANZAC (and allied) servicemen and women and their families.

Another great turn out, even in the drizzle, this morning. Once again great to see loads of young people and kids attending.

Lest We Forget

Great turnout in my town this morning, with a very fast, very exciting Super Hornet flyover in honour of a local who was recently killed in Afghanistan.

Lest we forget.
