Given the size of the membership on PPRuNe it may well have already happened.

That's true. A Ppruner probably dies every week. But Gainsey and 411A were prominent, frequent posters whose personalities we got to know. Others are less a part of the mien.

I often wonder about past posters such as Capt KAOS, Granpa, Caslance, Lima Alpha Junk, et al. Did they tire of us and find better things to do? Did they pass away like Binos? Are we generating their replacements? (I pay attention to the logged in count at the bottom of the page which shows a general decline trend, hopefully not to the point of this being a moribund thread of die-hards.)

I miss Brickhistory and Dushan and West Coast who were all banned for life in fealty to moderator pique. I want Pprune, particularly JB, to be more robust as I've derived so much enjoyment from it, especially when it was robust. Now it seems to be just hanging on with spurts of interest punctuating its general decline. I sense it doesn't have to be this way, as JB has so much potential. But I don't make the rules.

Those who are politically verbose usually possess a sense of humour akin to an on-duty secret service agent, but I particularly enjoyed Dushan's satirical wit. I miss those three as well.

I seldom log in anymore, but I think you're right, BandAide. The Pprune arena does not seem as crowded as it once was.

One of the beauties of PPruNe is that, if banned for life, it is usually only your ID that is lost. We all have the opportunity to reinvent ourselves under a new name and carry on, the mods may know immediately and others later, if you were banned for seriously gross misconduct you are likely to be banned again but generally you will get to live again.

It is possible to ban the ISP that you come from but all that requires is for the poster to use an anonymiser type function, but the mods can still ban your new user name, if you are a serial offender.

I think the banned icon is very cool and it turns to be a title of honor to have one under your title.

And yes we still love PPRuNe.
