ARDU RAAF Canberra meeting with Dept Civil Aviation F27 on west coast of Tasmania circa 1974. The F27 was conducting navaid calibration in Tasmania when a request came from the Canberra to engage in formation flying. By chance a DCA photographer was aboard the F27 and snapped this fine photo.

This particular Canberra had seen service in Vietnam, based at Phan Rang Air Base from 1967. It returned to Australia in 1971.

In 1982, it was issued to Central Service Laboratories trials division, and was later destroyed at Woomera as part of Karinga cluster bomb trials.

David

I think the two on the end are Shackleton's?

Good clue DH - in which case the photo was likely taken at Butterworth during Konfrontasi when RAF Shacks and RAAF Neppies flew LRMP.
