Shortly after touch down at Darwin, the No 1 engine throttle linkage broke and the engine went to full power. The aircraft swung off the runway and the pilot had just got it under control when one wheel hit an unmarked drainage ditch. This was the result. The aircraft was a write-off. Circa 1953.
