Does anyone have any experience with sending aircrew on short term flying secondments to the middle east (or anywhere). If so, do/did the aircrew need VISAS for the time spent there and to whom should I apply.. .Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx

Depends where you are sending your crew. Some countries such as Algeria are very difficult. Obtaining a visa ias a long process. Unless a tech stop only is in question. Some countries, when a crewmember has no visa, have a habit of taking passports of the crew upon arrival and then returning it on departure. I was sceptical of this procedure before , but it seesm to work even in the more under developed regions and countries.

In specific questions I suggest you contact embassy of the country in question or alternatively Air-Routing, Universal, Jeppesen, Base Ops or similar flight planning agency.. .Also FAA publishes, what is called International AFD. This contains visa info , but is generally from a US passport holders point of view.. .Email me if you need any additional info.
