Mmm, they'll have to put the ones who took voluntary hours reductions back up to full time 1st. Then comes rehiring the laid off staff....how long until they get back to square 1 and offer jobs back to crew they laid off in the end of 2001?

The number I heard in late Feb was 40 but I'm sure it's gone up since then.

Will they rejoin at the former payscale (year)?

And for potential new-hires, what are the latest rumours on new terms?

75+ re-hired this year, mainly into "main-line SAS", already started or will do before the end of August. Re-hired on old payscale.

The outstanding previously fired pilots will most likely not be re-hired on old payscale but be offered the "new payscale" which is substantially worse than the "old payscale".
Time to command on a "real" SAS airliner these days is beyond 15 years.

Many pilots still out on Leave of Absence and others on part time. It will certainly take time before any new pilots gets the "chance" of being hired.

My advice. Go somewhere else with a more bright future.

I hear rumours of average age in SAS mainline = 50 yrs. If this is true, there should be some substantial changes within the next few years. Anyone who can confirm that this is correct, or incorrect?

Sounds about right.

That means we will see substantial changes in 15 years when everybody is 65!
