Nigel is the affectionate (?) name given to a BA pilot.

It is out-dated now as it refers to the old image of BA pilots all being from the old boy network.

Having thought about it, it may be an affectionate nod at BA pilots, but it could be used by some who are jealous of those flying for the flag carrier (or not as the case is with some of the BA fleet curently!)

Howdy Clive,

Howz Auz treating you? We're still all waitng to here if we have jobs up here, maybe being a 'Nigel' wouldn't be such a bad thing.

Cheers

Is that 'Electric Eric' ?
You know the one that walks very fast !

Don't forget 'Dangerous Dave' too.
You know the bad one..........!

And then there is:-
'The Fat Controller'
'The Prince of Darkness'
'Shirley'
'Melanie'......etc. etc.

Do you have any better names for the characters?

There are exactly 37 people called Nigel in BA.

Quite amazing what the find function in MS Word can do for you.

Oh, and MS Excel tells me that this is 1.1% of the total workforce.

YES I am sad.

:)

One could argue that being called Nigel is no worse than being called Clive!
