While we are at it, and there seems to be a creative pause, allow me to post another Where on Earth challenge.

Just finished a meal of grilled dorado, filled with herbs, and had a nice bottle of Chenin Blanc - Viognier from the Old New World.

Here is a shot of the back label. Got a bit confused about the warning. Honestly, I never thought it that way.

So: Where on the Earth do they need a label like this?

13.5% alcohol?

RegDep
11th Jul 2011, 20:31
Yes, the importer is in Switzerland, and the wine has been bought in Germany. The wine is a Stellenbosch. So go figure who needs to warn that drinking alcohol may reduce your ability to drink more alcohol.

Good night and good luck.

Edit: Woken up to the sunny morning, I think it is in order to recognize that the sober state of the thread is that Sailor should call his challenge to Wordick, and my interlude with the warning will stay unresolved - I have no idea why it is necessary to say what it says.

Don't know if you saw this over the weekend.

Sunday 10th July 2011
Mt Etna Volcano, Italy
A paroxysmal eruption occurred at SE crater of Mt Etna volcano on 9th July 2011 after a few days of strobolian activity. This is the fifth eruption at Mt Etna in 2011. The eruption was shorter than previous eruptions this year. Weak strombolian activity occurred at SE crater between 4-7 July. Activity stopped on 8th July and resumed on 9th July around midday when lava overflowed the eastern rim of SE crater. At 13:45 UT strombolian eruptions intensified to produce a lava fountain. Ash emissions reached a height of several kilometres and produced lapilli falls in populated areas between Nicolosi and Catania in the south, and Trecastagni, Viagrande and Acireale in the southeast. The paroxysm lasted for one hour and was accompanied by a lava flow which reached the Valle del Bove. During the start of the paroxysm there was an ash explosion from Bocca Nuova.

Well change the file name. You don't actually think that right clicking on my last photo is going to help do you?

Your second photo says Mousa Island on the file.

Anyway I thought the convention was that if a player gets it right it's his/her bash not open house declared by the poster.

Anyway have to go off line now if anyone can prove that they have got the house location correct they have control.

Cheers

RegDep
15th Jul 2011, 15:14
OK: Lets assume that Dark Continent is Africa (there could be other alternatives, of course, but lets assume Africa). And the challenge is not in south, so lets assume it is north of the equator. And thus it is geographically close to Africa, but not on the continent of Africa.

What does that leave us

1. Cap Verde, Canary Islands, Madeira and Azores in the west.
2. Near East

How about Sinai?

Edit: I am not stalking you, you are stalking me Sirikit :suspect:.
