Hi,. .. .Perhaps a daft question, but... .If flying short-haul, for example the last BA shuttle LHR-MAN in the evening, would it be more usual to stay at one of the airport hotels, or go into the city and stay there? Just one of those things I've always wondered about... surely if you are going back at 6:30 the next morning it is more convenient to stay at the airport?. .. .Thanks. .G-BPEC

Often wherever the cheapest deal is. Not many tours will include the first flight the next day after operating the last flight in.

OK, Thanks. It just seemed odd that with the number of airport hotels suddenly springing up around MAN that crews would transit the 10-15 miles into Manchester city centre rather than staying nearby to the airport.. Lucifer, take it the swanky Radisson SAS is off then?? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> . .. .G-BPEC

The only problems with staying in airport hotels are that there's never anything to do!. .. .At least if you're in the city centre you can wander around the centre, go to the cinema, choose a restaurant etc!. .. .Quality of life in airport hotels tends to be zero, mind you there's not much you can do with your 11 hours anyway!!!

G-BPEC..... .. .Not sure, but I think I've seen bmi crews in the bar at the Radisson SAS. Maybe because SAS part own the company !

moley,. .. .interesting.. do some airlines have deals with certain hotel chains then? for example, will SAS crew always stay at SAS Radissons where they are available? makes sense as more often or not the big name hotels will be at the airport anyway. .. .Cheers

SAS crew will very often stay at a Radisson/SAS hotel. Although at some few places we donīt for some reason. Our deal with company is, that if stop from block on to block off next day is more than 14 hours, we get to stay in city center.
