OK, I'm a JAR ATPL holder, working for a UK airline, I'm going on holiday in the US for a few weeks this summer and was toying with the idea of getting some GA in, Ideally a quick licence conversion followed by a trip over the grand canyon (if such a thing is possible). We're actually starting off on the east coast and driving across over the course of about 3 weeks. I suppose the closest the road journey would take us to the GC is Phoenix AZ. What I want to know is :

A. what is involved in converting my Commercial/AT licence and if it's worth it?. .B. Is it actually possible to hire a small twin and go for a jolly over the Grand Canyon?. .C. If yes to either of the above, could anyone point me in the right direction for a decent FTO?. .Cheers folks
