Looking for TSA-approved fingerprint collection locations within Australia.

TSA tell me the only such approved individual resides in Sydney, however the AOPA list all State and Federal Police within Australia as approved.

Anyone have any experience with this problem?, I have trouble believing only one individual in Australia is approved! I certainly would rather not fly to Sydney for the sole purpose of providing fingerprints to uncle Sam.

Thanks.

The lady in Sydney is the only one in aus/NZ that is authorized by the TSA. Foreigners are not authorized no matter how friendly they are with the Feds. She is very quick and friendly though not cheap. Your other option is to get fingerprinted on arrival which can be at most airports and police posts in the us. Could take a couple of weeks to come back though. A collegue of mine just did that and it only took 3 days. Two days for approval for me in Sydney.

Thank you "atr42guy",

good to know one has the correct information, even if it's bad news. Sydney it is!, I'm not too keen on leaving a go, or no go item to the last minute, once within the US.

good luck! type rating or license? Don't forget that and FAA atp is useless in Aus because we know how flying should be done and america knows nothing about aviation... ;-)
