Does anyone know how easy it is to get a validation to fly a Qatar registered aircraft either FAA or JAA if indeed one is needed. I recently obtained a Mongolian one and it was quite long winded and I was stuck out there for 8 days so dont really want a repeat of that.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

debiassi,
It depends in part on why you need the validation (ie who wants you to fly it for them). If it's for someone with a bit of influence then it will be quite a lot faster than it may otherwise be.
The process is quite simple with the licence verification part taking the longest. It took the UK CAA the best part of a week to respond to the request (despite having to pay them a fee), but once that was received it only took the QCAA 40 minutes to issue my validation.
You can of course start the paperwork for the verification before coming to Qatar and that should save you some time.
All the best, and maybe see you out here.
