FAA POAC Courses?

I'm currently part way through an application for the FAA. I'm starting to think about information and experiences I can call upon at my SIFT and AIB, indeed I have already found an awful lot of useful information in this forum.

I've come across the POAC course that is (was?) offered. I've done a google search, searched this forum and done a search on rum ration. All the posts I can find are dated 2007 and earlier.

Before I start calling the AFCO could anyone in the know tell me if the POAC courses are still offered, or if any aquaintance courses are still offered?

Any and all replies are greatly appreciated and apologies if this was posted in the wrong place.

I attended a Four day POAC in May this year. Mine was at Culdrose, hosted within the wardroom with serving Young Officers. All of whom enjoy chatting about their experiences so far in the service.

As far as im aware, those interested in a FAA specialisation (Aircrew/ATC etc) are offered either a RNAS Culdrose or Yeovilton POAC. Spending time with a variety of operational squadrons, as well as their respective engineering departments, OCUs and some time with ATC.

We also completed the Bleep test with one of the PTIs as per the in-service fitness assessment.

An excellent few days. Well worth mentioning to your AFCO, I wasn't aware of them at the time & was lucky to be offered it without prompting. I'm finishing my final year at uni this year, with a hopeful Sept 2011 BRNC entry, Heavily dependant on aircrew requirements, as per the SDSR.
