As SLF on this flight I would like to thank the crew for the professional way that the incident was handled, but more importantly the updated info from the flight deck.

BUT, why wewre so many passengers actually standing, and preparing to disembark, whilst we were still moving before shut down at the gate in LHR....and this was mide section, next to the manned emergency exits.

To which incident do you so obliquely refer? "Inside knowledge" obviously.

Who knows why the pax were standing up? Who cares?

"Updated info" comes from the front on the basis of "if able". I'd rather hear nothing from them and know they were focused on sorting out the problem, not on soothing the nerves of the punters.

BP you must be a barrel of laughs to fly with.

Because the passengers in question are idiots and sadly no airline I've ever traveled with is prepared to enforce the "remain seated until you're told to get up" rule.

As I tell my trainees, if you CAN spare a moment or two to talk to the pax it shows that you are in control of the situation (or at least, gives that impression and that's good for passenger morale). For the same reason, it's best that it comes from the captain.

When you arrive at the gate, step on the brakes hard.
Then at least they know why they're supposed to keep their butts on the seats.

Okay, I'll bite. What happened on 007 and what the hell is an SLF?

taxi off stand, and very firm brake application.

Captain PA: as some of you might have seen we have an unruley (spl) passenger and will be returning to stand.

The pax was white, tall short hair, and wearing his headphones. walking up and down the isle, and made towards the 3R exit, and told the CC that I have never opened one of these doors, let me try".

There was male CC close to him.

The Captain advised that the police would board and escort him off.

Delay due to bags offload, then delay due to security check of cabin.

All very professional, and no one really got too upset.

Hope this answers the questions raised.

I was a passenger, with no inside knowledge.

Hmmm, better than the Northwest 747 at BKK about twenty years ago.
Pax wanted OFF on the way to the runway, stood up, yelled "I'm otta here' and flung open the L3 door, and tried to jump out.

Oh, joy...

Is that some typical 411A-BS again?

Hardly...I was on the flight, enroute NRT, positioning.
Slide raft trailing in the breeze, returned to the parking bay.
Aircraft delayed eight hours.

The idiot in question was an attention seeking Brit, and was marched off the aircraft, arrested and taken to the cells where he currently resides. He is in very deep sh*t. Keep an eye on the local press for more
