I am planning to take the instructors course after i have got my cpl. Can i give lessons in my own plane and work for myself or would i need to be a part of a flying school?

You can indeed work for yourself but you will need to Register as a Registered Facility. After April 2012 you will need an Approval. There is however one major issue and that is that as a newly qualified "Restricted" FI you can only give instruction under the supervision of an unrestricted FI until you have 100 hours instruction under your belt and have supervised 25 solo flights. Whilst its all possible it may be easier to work for a flying school.
