Hi all,

I've been a long time reader of the forum, but a first time poster. So I apologise if I have posted this in the wrong forum, however I think my query comes under technical.

Anyway, I'm an artworker currently working freelance in the signage industry. I do designs for vehicle liveries and exhibition graphics etc. I've always had a great interest in aviation and I'd now like to see if I can combine the two. I'd love to handle the designs for aircraft liveries (not physically designing them myself as I assume that's done by design agencies!). I'm used to working with large format graphics and accurate sizes, so I'm hoping I'll have the experience to work with aircraft.

I've been doing some research and come across Air Livery Ltd, based in Norwich. They seem to be a big player in the field, but unfortunately they're a little too far away for me to commute to daily if I worked there. I live in Kent.

But apart from that company, I haven't managed to find any other companies that produce aircraft liveries. So I suppose my main questions are as follows:

1. Are there other dedicated companies that are responsible for the refinishing of airliners?

2. Is there even a job that exists which deals with graphical layouts of the aircraft etc?

3. Are there any specific requirements for such a role?

It seems to be quite a big industry, but yet a very specialised one, so if anyone out there can help me it'd be much appreciated.:ok:
