Atpl study?

Hi there guys im about to start studyin my atpl theory, and i was just wondering which subjects i should study first, i have been told met and human factors are relatively straight forward. Is it easyier to self study for these atpls or try to find a place that teaches you them?

Self study the 3 easier subjects first. Then send yourself up to Marochy and do the four harder ones.

I haven't done any other courses but Nathans course is ideal because you can re-sit any part of the course free of charge until you pass the subject which is great.

If you decide to self study the entire course then I would suggest doing them in the following order. Human Factors, Met, Air Law, Performance and Loading, Flight Planning, Navigation & Systems.

Doing Performance first will set you up well for Flight Planning.

And if you're planning to self-study all 7 part-time spread over the 3 years, it's better to sit the harder ones first, and once you start getting those in the bag, then the clock starts running, so there is less time pressure on the the easier ones.

Harder ones = Air Law, Performance and Loading, Flight Planning, Navigation & Systems.

I self studied 5 out of the 7 subjects.
I did it in the following order:
Met,human factors, airlaw, nav, loading, flight planning, systems.

Tips:
*Met:Sraight forward.
*Human factors: don't be fooled that it's easy, it is, but it's also easy
to muck up.
*Airlaw: not hard, use the trevor Thom exam book, as a final assessment,
if you pass these trial exams, then you won't have any problems.
*Nav:Not difficult, careful on PNR questions at the end, they're worth
a few marks.
*loading: Strongly recommend to attend a full classroom course, then
practise using dividers and eyeballing the position of each point on a
loadsheet.
*Flightplanning:Must, repeat you must attend a classroom course.
*Systems: Can self study and pass, very long and draining, possibly
the most demanding of all subjects.

Do the easier ones first to get runs on the board and concentrate on
the remaining ones last.
I've seen some really switced on kids out there who can virtually blitz these exams,
so it depends how gifted you are?
Otherwise, it's hard labour, slog it out and re-group/try again when you
muck up an exam.

At the end of the day, it's important to successfully complete a
good course somewhere and pass the trial exams, but in the exam
room, the difference between passing and failing an exam, is by being
able to get past the questions that require additional thought and
being able to think outside the box.

The man's quite good!
Tafe is also a good place but time consuming.

Hey guys thanks for the tips, i actually live in new zealand so yea cant go to tafe :).
I dont have a job atm just trying to concentrate on the flying but other than that i have alot of spare time so hopefully i can dust off a few of these exams. Unfortunately nav is my worst subject so i think ill have to find a place that can help me out with that! What kind of book are most helpful? i have some notes that are written by some high up pilot but it is not a text book so yea..
